You Only Live Once

This is one of those days I'm turning to writing to seek a sense of solace.

Sometimes, things don't turn out the way you expect. Things go wrong, and you're caught off-guard, really off-guard.

One moment he's there, the next moment he's not.

And it is almost always the case that you only start thinking of all the times you have spent together after one of the duo is gone forever.

A recent incident served as a huge wake-up call to me - to cherish every single person around you like its your last day with them, for you never know what will happen the next minute.

Life is nothing but a fleeting dream - every event, be it significant or not, is a dot on your timeline in which you don't know when will come to a halt.

You may be happily putting the dots with the end in mind, but what if 'the end' is fast-forwarded 10 years earlier? Will you then hastily try to re-plan your life, only to have it disrupted by another uncontrollable force again?

At the end of the day, your timeline is just like any other person's timeline, the only difference lies in how meaningful your dots are.

If tomorrow were to be the apocalypse, what would you do today? Live in fear and despair for your life is coming to an end, or spend next 24 hours, 1440 minutes, 86,400 seconds living your life to the fullest?

Opportunities are aplenty out there, waiting to be grabbed and cherished by the rightful. The next time you are faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself a question. Is that what you really want?

Do something you love. Not for money, not for fame, not for satisfying other people, but for satisfying yourself.

If it is something you know you want to do for the rest of your life, stop hesitating and hold it tight with your dear life.

You only live once, and time waits for no man.
